ORGANIC COSMETICS – A RIGOROUS UNDERTAKING 
 

ITALCHILE has been actively and genuinely involved in over ten years’ worth of research and development to attain ‘BIO’ certification. A strong loyalty to Organic Cosmetics is therefore a natural and integral part of the identity of ITALCHILE products. This was first achieved by the ‘Rosa Mosqueta’ product (a worldwide exclusive) – which is the main ingredient of Italchile products – followed by a wider range of product lines, all based on the Rosa Mosqueta. The entire range of Italchile products has been certified organic since late 2006.

Mosqueta’s bio oil is extracted by cold pressure in Italchile’s Chilean branch and submitted to an exclusive method called ‘dynamisation’. This method allows the oil’s natural richness and powerful healing properties to remain intact.

Back in 1989, Italchile started the process of organic certification of Rosa Mosqueta in South America, which was then followed by working closely with the French organisation, Ecocert, in 1996.

For many years, Ecocert  (http://www.ecocert.fr) has been the highest authority for the control and certification of ecological and environmental products and processes and operates in more than 80 countries around the world. In September 2002, Ecocert was the sole developer of a reference standard for the certification of ecological and organic cosmetics. The standards are recognised and valued at an international level and are the only example of standards developed in collaboration with a government authority - the French Department of Industry. It is also the only work of its kind (in France) that has been published in the Official Journal and submitted to strict fraud prevention controls. 

The ecological and organic cosmetics certification (see label: BIO logo ) is exclusively endorsed by if the product has: 

• a minimum of 95% of the plant raw material is from certified organic origin
•  a minimum of 95% of the total product (including the water) is of natural origin
• a minimum of 10% of the total product (including the water)is of certified organic origin
•  certification is applied following live verification and approval of the product by qualified technical inspectors in cosmetics.
•  that are strictly not allowed include: preservatives, synthetic perfumes, dye and animal testing.

Products do not contain: paraben, phenoxyethanol, PEG-PPG and petrochemical derivatives.

The packaging is also subject to ecological and environmental friendliness specifications.

Italchile has completed all the steps and has strived to achieve complete ‘organic integrity’. The organisation’s history confirms this further as even its very first product lines, Mosqueta’s and Omegarosa^Ò contained the certified organic Rosa Mosqueta oil as the main ingredient. 

Today all raw materials included in the creation of the new products lines of ‘Mosqueta’s Green and Mosqueta’s Gold, after September 2002 are fully conformant with rigorous Ecocert Standards.
